Our mission is to improve the watershed’s fish habitat, water quality and related resources while considering the region’s ecological and socioeconomic needs.
Noyo Watershed Alliance (NWA), formed in 2001, is a multi-stakeholder watershed group comprised of the City of Fort Bragg, Salmon Restoration Association (SRA) and the three largest landowners within the Noyo River Hydrologic Sub-Area (HSA): Campbell Timberland Management (CTM), Mendocino Redwood Company (MRC), and Jackson Demonstration State Forest (JDSF). In addition, CDFG provides technical advice, Trout Unlimited (TU) is a partner, and community members regularly participate in NWA meetings and activities. NWA has the broad base of landowner and community support needed to accomplish high-priority recovery tasks which may cross ownership boundaries.
The goals of NWA include the following:
· Provide a forum to foster partnerships among Noyo watershed land owners, resource users, interest groups and local residents;
· Develop and implement restoration projects within the Noyo River HSA;
· Conduct education and outreach programs; and
· Participate in prioritizing, planning, finding funding for and implementing restoration projects to improve fish habitat conditions and
water quality in the Noyo River HSA.
